The European Commission has made an explicit commitment to gender equality but, despite this, a review of the role of women in EU agriculture has found that the Common Agricultural Policy fails to consider women and gender diversities, with analysis further showing that some interventions potentially discriminate against them – either creating or further solidifying structural disadvantages.

In an interesting webinar organized together with Agroecology-TRANSECT, several SWIFT researchers presented their work on this topic and outlined possible ways forward, not just for research, but also for consistent implementation of public policies.
