The new SWIFT Advocacy Tool offers one answer.
Developed as part of the four-year Horizon Europe project SWIFT – Supporting Women-Led Innovations in Farming and Rural Territories, the tool brings together insights from research, experiences from the field and examples of advocacy and change. It translates this knowledge into an accessible, visual and story-driven online resource.
The tool is primarily designed for social movements and organisations engaging in policy discussions at EU level, while also offering valuable resources for researchers, policymakers and others interested in more equitable agricultural and rural policies.
Visitors can explore three key themes:
- Income & Subsidies – exploring how agricultural support and income structures affect different groups in farming.
- Generational Renewal – looking at who can enter, remain in and shape the future of farming.
- Access to Land – examining the challenges and inequalities surrounding access to and control over land.
Each theme takes visitors through a combination of stories, evidence and insights, leading towards strategies for change and practical resources that can support advocacy and decision-making.
The tool is designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, advocacy and decision-making in support of medium- and long-term gender-responsive strategies for farming and rural areas.
